Today, we’re going to make a brief trip into one of the most beautiful countries in the world – Greece. We’re going to talk about 5 Greek cities, which are the most attractive ones to buy a property in. Why? Let’s find out.
Buying a House: How Expensive Is Greece?
Having a whitewashed villa on one of the famous Greek resorts is a cherished dream for a lot of people. But we’re not going to talk about property in the luxurious places such as Santorini, Mykonos, or Corfu. At least not today. Instead, we’re going to get a closer look at a city life in the biggest urban places of Greece. We’re going to understand why Athens, Rhodes, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, and Patras are more attractive than other cities when it comes to buying or renting property.
As the capital and the largest city in the country, Athens is always attractive when it comes to a property. It is difficult to describe the city in a few words, but, to make a long story short, Athens is a huge city with lots of art on the streets, and boasts great cuisine. Here you can find very old, and even a little bit ruined houses to rent a condo, as well as very modern, stylish apartments with magnificent views. The most recognised sights of Greece are situated directly in the city. So, having a place to stay here, you’ll be able to reach historical places in a couple of minutes or within an hour, depending on where you’re going to live.
It is one of the largest places in the group of Greek islands. The benefit of having property here is that it is both an urban and a resort place. It definitely differs from other ordinary cities in Greece. The ancient architecture has fully preserved here almost in everything. This makes the prices for the houses and even small apartments higher than in other regions – 120.000-300.000 euros.
It is the second-largest city in the country. Still, it doesn’t make Thessaloniki the second expensive city to live in. It is quite an affordable place to rent or buy a house. The prices are affordable not only for property, but also for other activities in the city, including shopping. For example, for 10 euros in Thessaloniki, you can get a cup of coffee and koulouri, visit White Tower, try a traditional fast food, take a ride on the bus, and get a beer. That’s all for 10 euros only.
Heraklion is one of the best cities to have a property in because of the surroundings. The breathtaking views the city offers are beyond the expectations. The city also has a beautiful port.
It is the city with a simpler architecture, but more affordable property – 40.000-80.000 euros., so it is also a good option to buy property.
So, where would you like to live in Greece? Patras? Or Rhodes?
