Given its proximity to Lisbon and the excellent road links, São Martinho do Porto is a favourite holiday and weekend destination. Visitors can enjoy the exciting atmosphere, historic surroundings and leisure facilities the Costa de Prata has to offer. A truly Portuguese experience, which is becoming increasingly hard to find.
The train station is just five minutes walk away and in 90 minutes the train takes you to the capital, Lisbon.

Near the Praia da Consolação, the Botado golf course is a pleasant spread of nine holes. Close to the beach dunes, in a place which nature has favoured, the course runs parallel to the sea, spreading over two and a half kilometres. The scenery, which includes six lakes, looks out over the Atlantic, the Forte da Consolação, Peniche, Cabo Carvoeiro and the Berlengas islands. The nine holes include different exit tees so as to allow a second round. It is a Par 36 and is supported by a driving range, putting green, restaurant, bar, golf shop. The beach is also an option.
Óbidos is a magnificent Medieval Town surrounded by town walls dating back to the Moorish occupation that astonishes all its visitors. Captured by King Afonso Henriques in 1148, Óbidos has many attractions including the fine castle, which has been converted into a Pousada de Portugal and from which you can contemplate the magnificent landscape. Known as the “Town of the Queens”, due to the royal tradition of the King giving the town to the Queens as a present on the occasion of their wedding. Óbidos is an enchanting town, with many churches and chapels full of works of art, tiles, paintings, gilt woodcarving and religious vestments. Well worth a visit are the paintings by Josepha de Óbidos and her father Baltazar Gomes Figueira, illustrious painters of the Portuguese Baroque. Every Street or alley with their picturesque corners invite visitors to take a peaceful and refreshing walks, displaying the balance and harmony of this little Museum Town. The whitewashed houses with their bars of colours and adorned with flowers complete the portrait. In the different galleries of the Museu Municipal de Óbidos you can learn more about the culture and heritage of this historical Town.
